For students wanting an extra challenge and to further their training, we provide competition
teams that compete at eisteddfods throughout the year.
- Any student can choose to participate in a competition team.
- Students must be enrolled in the dance class for the genre they wish to participate.
- Students participating in a ballet group must be completing 2 ballet classes per week.
- Students participating in Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary or Musical Theatre/Variety groups must be completing at least 1 ballet class per week.
- No ballet classes are required to participate in Tap or Hip Hop competition teams.
Groups are based on the age your child is turning in the year and competition classes are held
in addition to their weekly classes.
Eisteddfods are a team sport and classical ballet teaches the fundamentals for technique
across all genres. This is why it is important for all members of the group to be working on
technique to ensure the whole team is stronger.
All students participating in Competition Teams must purchase The Collective Jacket and
tights which is compulsory to be worn to and from an eisteddfod.
There is a small fee to enter each eisteddfod which will be placed on your invoice for that term.
Solo Routines
For enquiries regarding coaching for solo eisteddfod routines, please see one of our Directors.
Competition teams are an incredible way to bond with your team mates and make new friends but it also teaches children about the commitment of a team and how to work together. These teams make friends and memories that they will keep for life.
“Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work!”
